Lili shot this lovely video of Nina dancing on her mobile. A cute little video. The only issue… Its been shot vertically. Being an ex-Windows user, I knew this was a pretty easy task using the Windows Movie Maker. But being a novice Mac user now, I wanted to know whether I could manage this on my MacBook Pro using Quicktime Pro.

After looking like a complete non-Pro-like ass, looking around every possible menu for a way to turn the orientation of the video around, I came across the “Show Movie Properties” in the Window menu for QT Pro.

This window lists the audio and video tracks included in the file. And clicking the Video Track reveals a whole lot of options that you could tweak around with. What we are interested in, for the task at hand, is the Visual Settings tab. Here we see the nice set of options, we could use to modify the Video output. In the section for Transformations – Flip/Rotate, we have buttons for 90 degree rotations.

Once oriented correctly, we could export or save the movie to a place and name of your choice and Bob’s your uncle! Cheers!
