Had A Car Accident Yesterday

Hello! Its awesome to see you again. You may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks, again, for visiting!

Its been a lovely couple of days at work, this week. Been working on a proposal for an adaptive re-use project for an old street corner Victorian house-office. And after a particularly blissful day of work yesterday, I left feeling really good about myself and the progress I’d made. At about 5:30 PM, I came to the Elgar – Belmore Road T-intersection on schedule, like I’ve been doing for the past year and a bit. I’m waiting there at the front of the pack, waiting to turn right onto Elgar. I’m speaking to Meenal, reminiscing about the day and about plans for the weekend. The light turns green, and I head out into the intersection… And I see, an old ute, coming full speed, heading straight for my door. The ute barely clears the door on my side and then… BANG!

I make a spin and a half from the impact and come to a stop looking straight at the elderly gentleman, who’s come crashing into me.

“I thought I saw yellow…”

… is all the gentleman would offer to my query, “what happened?” I came to realize the man is a Croatian, nearing his 80’s and works as a painter occasionally. After swapping details, we headed our ways and I arrived home to a stunned and worried Mum, Dad and Meenal (she apparently heard the whole incident taking place, cause I never disconnected the call after the crash). Meenal had already started on the insurance procedures and I take the car in on Saturday to have it looked at by the insurance company mechanics. Feel really bummed out at the moment, but eternally grateful for my Lord’s mighty grace!
