Hello! Its awesome to see you again. You may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks, again, for visiting!

I’ve recently got an opportunity to check out the relatively new Vray for Sktchup rendering plug-in. Its been only a couple of hours over this weekend and I’m just blown away. The software is being released commercially be ASGVIS. What is promising is the fact that both these products, independently, have a fantastic reputation for being at the top of their respective food-chains, with one tipping the scales with powerful, photo-realistic renderings and the other being the most simple, but effective modelling solution around. One only hopes they weave some great collective magic together.

The plug-in installs a toolbar letting you create point-light and and rectangular-light planes. Edit camera and material settings and final render output options. The software also installs a separate material editing software that allows for even greater control in generating realistic material parameters.

I’ve not delved much into the depths of the render options that Vray provides. I save that for a later post. But the straight out-of-the-box GI renders have been great.

Drop down to the ASGVIS site for more information.
